Stewart the seagull was painted in honour of the birds lost at sea. The story was told to me by a couple who have been sailing around the world for 6 years. Many birds are caught in storms at sea and some of them do not survive. The journey for them is treacherous but yet they do it, showing their determination and survival instincts.
